La Bohème Agafay review: our verdict
There are two Bohèmes, and it's the time that decides which one you find. In the afternoon, the Agafay camp slows down: deckchairs around a huge pool, a jacuzzi, a singer who moves between the tables, and generous Moroccan and European meals. In the evening, after dinner, it's show time: music, traditional dances, a very skilled fire-breather, then a DJ who ends up getting everyone dancing.
The decor lives up to its bohemian chic promise: rugs everywhere, lounge corners, views of the desert and the Atlas, and a small farm where donkeys, peacocks and ostriches mingle. There are only eight rooms: stone wigwams under a canvas, glass-walled tents, and suites whose terrace embraces the panorama; quad bikes and camels are organized on site. The house has packages designed for bachelorette parties, and it's the ideal venue for a birthday or a group of friends. Those seeking absolute silence will come during the day; the party, however, ends relatively early.
Good deal: day with pool and lunch, to enjoy the place without staying overnight. Best time slot: arrive for the sunset over Agafay, just before the show starts.
