Our review
Art deco and the Mediterranean on the Corniche
Villa Boga is a restaurant-bar on Rue de la Tempête in Casablanca, just steps from the Corniche. The venue banks on a polished art deco decor that sets the tone from the entrance: elegant moldings, velvet banquettes, soft lighting and furniture blending vintage and contemporary. It’s one of the most aesthetically striking spaces on the Casablanca restaurant-bar scene.
The Mediterranean menu
The cuisine is firmly Mediterranean, with a menu designed for sharing. Grilled dishes — meat and fish — are well-executed, fresh pasta arrives al dente, and sharing plates — charcuterie boards, bruschetta, fried calamari — work perfectly at the start of the evening. The Caesar salad and beef carpaccio frequently appear in recommendations. Portions are fair and presentation is polished.
Lounge atmosphere in the evening
It’s in the evening that Villa Boga reveals its true personality. The ambiance shifts to lounge with DJs, cocktails and a trendy crowd. The cocktail menu is well-crafted — with solid classics and signature creations. Live music nights draw crowds on weekends. The terrace is an added bonus for Casablanca’s mild evenings.
Our verdict
Rated 4.1/5 on Google, Villa Boga is a versatile address that works equally well for a business dinner or a Friday night out with friends. The art deco decor is a real asset, and the lounge atmosphere in the evening makes you want to stay. Prices are in the upper range for the Corniche, but the setting and overall experience justify it. Rue de la Tempête, Casablanca — reservations recommended on weekends.
