Croon Lounge review: our verdict
Croon Lounge has two faces. In the late afternoon, it's a decent but somewhat cold hotel lounge, where you can enjoy a well-crafted cocktail without the venue saying much. In the evening, the program changes completely: salsa-bachata-kizomba nights on Tuesdays, live bands, and a packed room whenever Morocco plays.
This is the address for dancers, groups of supporters, and those who like to have a drink in hand at a concert, located within the Rabat Marriott in Agdal. For dinner, the cuisine is good without being remarkable. You also have to deal with a shaky organization: poorly managed reservations on match nights, concerts that don't start at the announced time, and entry filtered by security, sometimes reserved for hotel guests or those over 21. Not for those who hate negotiating at the door.
The best slot: Tuesday evening for the SBK night, after checking the access conditions. The trap: relying on the phone on match nights, when you're told "no reservation" before being asked for a name at the entrance. The drink to order: a cocktail, the most consistent point of the house.
