La Mariscada review: our verdict
An aquarium in the dining room sets the tone: at La Mariscada, the sea is the theme. Fresh fish and seafood arrive, simply seasoned, in portions that fill a table. The decor is designed to make you want to stay, which isn't so common for a seafood spot.
You come here with family or friends, for a long weekend lunch or an informal dinner, with professional service that keeps pace. It's a Bouskoura address, so it's an outing you plan rather than an impromptu detour from central Casablanca. Not for those dreaming of a port shack with their feet in the sand, nor for tables that judge by the size of the fish: the sole, good as it is, may arrive in two small ones rather than one large one.
The dish to order: the seafood, the house's specialty. The trap: ordering the sole thinking you'll receive a large whole fish. The good tip: the ftour menu during Ramadan, very generous, advertised at 280 DH per person in a previous edition. The best time slot: the house serves every day from 11 am to 11 pm, without a break.
