Mesa Nueva review: our verdict
Mesa Nueva has understood that on the Corniche, the view does half the work. Opened in September 2026 near the El Hank lighthouse, this Spanish restaurant sets its tables facing the ocean and leaves the rest to the music: a Latin playlist on the turntables, followed by a band with a singer and dance segments that transform dinner into a mini party.
It's the spot for a night out with friends or a birthday that wants some rhythm, with table service that keeps up the pace. Not for a quiet tête-à-tête, nor a gastronomic pilgrimage: the kitchen is still finding its stride, and the paella, supposed to be the specialty, sometimes lacks flavor to the point of being sent back to the kitchen. The welcome at the entrance, however, could use some warming up, and the show could last a bit longer.
The trap: betting everything on the paella; better to share several plates and judge based on the whole. The good tip: book online, the link is on the venue's Instagram account, so you don't risk losing your table at the entrance. The best slot: dinner, when the DJ, band, and dancers take turns.
