Onomo Hotel Rabat Terminus review: our verdict
Getting off the train and being almost immediately at the hotel: this is Onomo Terminus's number one selling point, located right next to Rabat Ville station. The medina, main sights, restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. And at the very top, a rooftop with a restaurant offers a panoramic view of the city, from a table in a restaurant with a predominantly Spanish cuisine.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and surprisingly calm for such a busy junction; those overlooking the inner courtyard are even quieter. They could do with some refreshing, and the reception varies from person to person at the desk, from dedicated to frankly curt. The buffet breakfast is complete, less so for those on gluten-free or lactose-free diets. For a business trip, a train weekend or a practical base for visiting Rabat. Not for a romantic stay or for those seeking charm: it's a functional hotel, not a riad.
The good tip: ask for a courtyard room for the quiet. The pitfall: smoking in the room, the hotel is entirely non-smoking and charges for it. The best time slot: late afternoon on the rooftop, with the city at your feet.
