The Ranch Marrakech review: our verdict
Sleeping under a glass dome with the Atlas Mountains facing your bed: this is the promise of The Ranch, located near Tahannaout, and it is kept. Tents complement the accommodation, three pools—one covered and heated—occupy the afternoons, and the animal park gathers species rarely seen in Morocco, mostly imported. When the sun beats down, a cinema installed under a dome takes over.
The estate is tailored for families: children ride animals by the pool, then everyone goes for a horseback ride through the hills, the most memorable experience. Two restaurants serve Moroccan cuisine nourished by the organic vegetable garden, breakfast is plentiful, the rooms smell good, and the staff overflows with kindness. Couples looking to disconnect will also find their share here. Those expecting lively evenings will be less satisfied: at nightfall, no entertainment is scheduled and the play area remains poorly lit.
The good tip: the guided horseback ride, which children still talk about on the way back. The trap: relying on the room's small fridge in the middle of summer; it struggles to cool drinks. Plan for at least two days: you won't feel much need to go out.
