Zushi Marrakech review: our verdict
Regulars have been coming back to Zushi for years for the same reason: sushi that never disappoints, fresh fish and perfectly seasoned rice, whether you dine in, take away or order for delivery. The menu leans equally towards Japan and Thailand, from nigiris and sashimis to curries, wok dishes, dim sum and poke bowls, and for dessert, mochi or mango sticky rice. Behind the counter, the open kitchen lets you watch the chefs at work.
The venue stands out mainly for its practicality, facing the train station parking lot on Avenue Mohammed VI: working air conditioning, clean toilets, parking space and a friendly service. It suits a dinner with friends, a family meal or a last-minute craving, since the kitchen operates from noon to midnight. For a night out that marks the occasion, you'd go elsewhere: zen decor, chill-out music, everything remains understated, and consistency has seen some less inspired evenings.
The good tip: take-away orders, ready on time and carefully packaged. The trap: moving your chair, it scrapes the floor in a racket that turns heads.
