Anima review: our verdict
At the turn of a bamboo alley, a sculpture emerges, then another: Anima is explored like a treasure hunt. The garden imagined by artist André Heller covers two hectares on the road to Ourika, between cacti, palm trees, flowerbeds, two mazes, and a water lily pond, with the Atlas Mountains as a backdrop when the sky is clear. A small museum also displays works by the artist.
You can stroll for two good hours, as a couple, with friends, or with children, before ending up at the café, whose rooftop terrace overlooks the mountains, for a drink or a lunch at affordable prices, served without delay. The garden is well-maintained, and calm prevails when you avoid peak hours. Botany enthusiasts will, however, find themselves wanting: few signs, and species are rarely named. Those who want to identify everything would do better to bring an app.
Good tip: the free shuttle from the Koutoubia parking lot, on reservation, whose hours are published on the garden's Instagram account. Best time slot: in the morning, when the alleys are almost empty. Entry costs 60 DH for Moroccans and residents, 120 DH for foreign visitors (as of June 2026).
