Fairmont Royal Palm Golf & Country Club review: our verdict
The course follows the bed of an oued, and this is what gives it its character: water features, palm groves, and masses of bougainvillea and hibiscus alternate from hole to hole, with the Atlas always in the background. The Fairmont Royal Palm golf course, a par 72 designed by Cabell B. Robinson on 75 hectares, extends 12 kilometers from the center on the road to Amizmiz and remains open to non-members.
Fairways and greens are maintained year-round, and the varied layout leaves room for improvement: the regular player can hone their game, while a family can try a first introduction. The caddies read the terrain and its hazards, a real plus for those discovering the course. Around it, the country club occupies the rest of the day: practice with swing analysis, chipping and putting areas, tennis, gym, and hammam. Not for an impromptu game in the late afternoon: the club closes at 6 p.m.
The pitfall: forgetting to book a forecaddie, mandatory for non-members. The ideal time slot: an early morning start, cool, when the light falls on the Atlas. The best tip: stay for lunch at the club's restaurant after the round, the cuisine matches the course.
