Héritage berbère review: our verdict
You can recognize an Héritage Berbère bottle even before opening it: each one features a handcrafted tassel made by Moroccan artisans. Marie-Jeanne Combredet launched the house in 2008 to create fragrances inspired by the country, and it was in Sidi Ghanem that she established in 2017 both her boutique and the workshop where the creations are born.
The boutique is beautiful, the products are neatly displayed, and you take your time to test them. On the shelves, there are juices for men, for women, and unisex, candles, ambient fragrances, and pillow mists, plus a body care line: lotions, scrubs, scented oils, and solid soaps. The prices remain reasonable for artisanal perfume. Perfect as a gift, to bring back a scent of Marrakech, or to find a favorite bottle. Not ideal for an express purchase from the medina: Sidi Ghanem is out of the way, and depending on who you ask, the advice may lack precision.
The pitfall: aim for a Saturday afternoon or Sunday, as the boutique closes at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and only reopens on Monday at 10 a.m. The good tip: the brand's boutique in the medina, which is more central, when you want to be thoroughly guided through the range.
