Karawan Riad review: our verdict
Chez Karawan, attention to detail is the focus. The riad has been restored with such care that you can still discover hidden corners even after several days, and the journey descends to the hammam in the basement before ascending to the terrace, from where the view stretches over Fès. An invitation to travel that earned the house a Michelin Key in 2026.
Welcome begins as soon as you exit the taxi: someone comes to pick you up to guide you to the door, and you are lent a connected phone for the duration of your stay. Francophone team and attentive service, high-quality hammam and massages. This is the riad of a couple who wants to be pampered between two days of visiting Fès El Bali, or to depart on excursions from a calm base. This is not an address for a budget stay: it is a high-end hotel, and it commands its price accordingly.
The best slot: breakfast on the terrace, the best moment of the house. The trap: taking all your dinners on-site; the chef's kitchen has its loyalists, but others find it expensive for what it is, and the city lacks nothing in terms of tables to try.
