A Place Steeped in History
La Sqala occupies an exceptional heritage site on Boulevard des Almohades in Casablanca. Set within the walls of a former fortification, the restaurant offers a unique setting with its lush gardens and historic architecture. The place transports visitors to an old-world Casablanca, far from the urban hustle.
The menu highlights traditional Moroccan cuisine: tajines in various preparations, couscous on Fridays, pastilla, grilled meats, and Moroccan salads. The breakfast is also highly regarded, with msemen, baghrir, and fresh orange juice. Cooking is authentic and flavorful, true to Moroccan culinary traditions.
The garden courtyard is the soul of the venue, with mature trees, fountains, and seating areas that create a peaceful retreat. The interior rooms are adorned with traditional Moroccan decor. The atmosphere is serene and timeless.
Rated 4.2/5 on Google, La Sqala remains one of Casablanca’s most emblematic restaurants. The combination of history, gardens, and authentic cuisine makes it a must-visit for anyone discovering the city.
