Palm Plaza Hôtel & Spa review: our verdict
The Palm Plaza Hotel & Spa is designed as a miniature holiday town where a week can be spent without ever leaving the premises, featuring a basketball court, a tennis court, an adult pool, and a children's pool. This grand five-star property on Avenue du 7ème Art blends contemporary architecture with Moroccan decor around a central pool surrounded by well-maintained landscaped gardens. Rooms and suites all have balconies, facing either the garden or the water.
At the dining end, El Menzah serves well-stocked international buffets, Marrakech-Phuket fuses Asian and Moroccan flavors, and the Oasis Snack Bar offers tasty snacks by the poolside; it is good, though unsurprising. The spa, complete with a hammam and sauna, and the fitness center are up to standard, and the staff goes above and beyond, even arranging a cake waiting in the room for a birthday. Families, couples, and groups wanting everything at hand need look no further, though those wishing to explore the medina on foot will find it over four kilometers away, requiring a taxi.
The tip: mention a birthday when booking, as the team knows how to make it special. The drawback: don't expect the table to provide the spark of a memorable stay; the cuisine remains correct but nothing more. The concierge organizes excursions to venture outside the resort grounds.
