Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial review: our verdict
The charm of a medina house won't be found here, and the hotel doesn't pretend it is. The Palais Impérial plays a different tune: large gardens in Hivernage, rooms facing the greenery and, for some, the Atlas Mountains, and an astonishing calm just a taxi ride from the medina. For dinner, head to L'Orangerie, where the waiter details the dishes and guides you through the menu.
What makes the difference lies in the staff: efficient reception upon arrival, quick room service, faultless housekeeping, and a breakfast that leaves you with no choice to make. Families rely on Suite Kids to keep the children occupied, couples on the spa and the garden paths. A safe base for a weekend getaway or a stay with parents. Not for those who dream of patios, zelliges, and derbs right outside: here, the comfort is classic, and the old town is reached by car.
The good tip: book dinner at L'Orangerie, for the service as much as for the dish. When booking the room, ask for the garden side: some rooms overlook the Atlas, and it's the view you'll remember upon waking.
