La Table du Marché Hivernage review: our verdict
On paper, the kitchen operates from 12:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. In practice, La Table du Marché delivers its best work much earlier. Established in 2004 within the Hivernage hotel, on a concept born in Saint-Tropez, it brings together French bistro and Moroccan cuisine: chef-reimagined tajines, fresh salads, homemade desserts, and a broad enough menu for regulars to explore from start to finish.
At lunch, the dining room is calm and the staff know their regulars: business lunches, family meals, or a break between meetings at the Hivernage. In the evening, live music takes over—gnaoua, singing, violin, or percussion—and the plates remain generous. However, for a late-night supper after a party, look elsewhere: by midnight, the server may advise against the aged ribeye, announce the end of the foie gras, and suggest preparing « something quick ».
The ideal slot: lunch, or an early evening dinner to enjoy the full menu. The trap: arriving after midnight and relying on the kitchen, which then runs at a slow pace.
