Spa du Palace Es Saadi review: our verdict
Three levels wrapped around an old eucalyptus tree, 3,000 m² flooded with natural light, Philippe Starck furniture: the spa at the Palace Es Saadi is more to be experienced than visited. Its heart, the Oriental Thermae, alternates hot and cold, from the current-resistant swimming pool to the laconium, via the Finnish sauna and nine steam or dry heat baths, up to the ice fountain. On the top level, a 1,000 m² solarium, including a bar.
The ritual to remember: hammam, exfoliation, then massage, alone or in a duo cabin, by hands that know what they're doing. The atmosphere remains calm and crisp, and fitness, yoga, beauty salon and nail bar extend the day. People come here with friends, for a birthday or a real break for two. For an express massage after the office, a neighbourhood institute will suffice: here, the circuit demands time for oneself.
The good tip: the day pass, which gives visitors access to the spa and the outdoor pool, with hammam treatment, drink and lunch included. The trap: relying on the Oriental Thermae without a formula, it's only included for residents of the palace, its villas and its ksars. The spa is open daily until 9 pm: arrive as early in the morning as possible.
