Baan Thaï Institut review: our verdict
Founder Brigitte Loudet trained in Bangkok at the Wat Pho temple school, and the institute retains that method: certified Thai therapists, deep-tissue pressure and stretches that release the body. Traditional massage is combined here with the Moroccan hammam and exfoliation, spread across 850 m² on two levels of a residence in Guéliz.
Dim lighting, soft music, floral scents: you quickly forget the Mohammed V avenue below. The menu extends to African oils, a massage designed for golfers, manicure, pedicure and waxing, and the rooftop terrace overlooks the Koutoubia and the Atlas. Book an afternoon to unwind, a girls' outing or a gift card, and regulars return with their eyes closed. Not so much for those who demand the same result every visit: massage quality varies by therapist, and a complaint doesn't always find an ear.
Good deal: the hammam and exfoliation package, the most consistent offering. Pitfall: booking without specifying desired massage intensity. Doors remain open from 10 am to 10 pm, seven days a week.
