Nommos Marrakech review: our verdict
Here, dinner begins with guitar and ends with a wristband. Around 7 p.m., a guitarist plays in the dining room and conversation can still be heard; then the dancers take the stage, the DJ turns up the volume, and the club portion opens its doors. The menu spans from the Mediterranean to Asia, from sushi to beef carpaccio, through cuts of meat and fish, all prepared in an open kitchen overlooking the dining area. At the bar, the house cocktails never disappoint.
The atmosphere and service carry the house, down to the server who knows how to guide you to the right dish. The meal is more hit-or-miss: a steak may delight one evening, while tough, bland lamb chops may dampen the spirits the next, and the bill is justified mainly by the show. For a birthday or a group wanting to dine and dance without changing venues, the gamble is won. For a gourmet who judges an evening by its food, it's better to look elsewhere.
The right time slot: exactly 7 p.m., if you prefer guitar to decibels; the dining room then transforms into a party. The catch: promising the club to the whole group, as wristband access is subject to age conditions, to be clarified when booking. Open every evening until 2 a.m.
