L'Epicurien review: our verdict
At L'Epicurien, the clock rules everything: first service at 8:30 pm, second at 10 pm, and around midnight the tables give way to the dance floor. Located within the Es Saadi casino in Hivernage, the decor revisits the 1950s, both indoors and on the terrace overlooking the garden, while the stage hosts a live band with a very broad repertoire, dance numbers, and then DJ Momo on the turntables.
It's tailored for large parties: birthdays for ten or fifteen, servers who set the mood, and generous plates with properly cooked dishes. The international and unsurprising cuisine does the job, from salmon pasta to cheesecake. Not for a quiet dinner or for those fleeing the crowds: the room is often packed, and once the club gets going, standing without a table is an achievement. Smart attire and closed shoes required.
The trap: believing the table belongs to you for the night; after about two and a half hours, only a bottle ordered allows you to keep it. The good tip: ask when booking if the show is on that evening, as it's not programmed every day. The best slot: the second service, at 10 pm, to finish dinner just as the room switches to club mode.
