L'Endroit review: our verdict
Midway through the meal, the terrace roof opens up on its own and the sky of Hivernage joins the table: this is the little theatrical twist at L'Endroit, a house entirely turned toward the sea. Chef Jean Emmanuel Christ works the day's catch here, between bistro and fine dining: octopus carpaccio with peppers and pesto, citrus arachne salad, perfectly grilled sole, bouillabaisse, and generous seafood linguine.
The chic beldi setting, with white walls and soft light, is spread across several rooms, a lounge and a large central bar that invites you to start with an aperitif. The team takes allergies into account without making a fuss, and the chef stops by to check in. For a dinner for two or a night out with friends who love fish; those who are die-hard meat lovers will go elsewhere, and on Sundays, the door is closed.
Dish to order: the octopus carpaccio with pesto, then the seafood linguine. The good tip: let the day's catch guide you rather than the menu. The trap: wait until Friday evening to book, as the weekend rushes by quickly.
