Riad El Fenn review: our verdict
From the rooftop of El Fenn, the Koutoubia appears within reach. The rooftop spans 1,300 m², featuring a 13-metre pool facing the Atlas Mountains, and the hotel opens it up to those who don't stay overnight. Head up in the late afternoon for house-made cocktails, small sharing plates, and a music selection that sets the tone without overpowering conversations.
Down below, the hotel aligns 41 rooms, all different, between European furniture from the fifties and sixties, local craftsmanship, and large bathtubs, with yoga, sound baths, and Maison d'Asa treatments to fill the days. Up top, the team maintains a simple welcome despite the standing, and service remains quick. The place suits girls' aperitifs, bachelorette parties, and romantic outings. Less so for a gourmand dinner: the restaurant divides, and portions seem meagre for what they cost.
The glass to order: a house cocktail, the reason we come back. The good time slot: arrive before sunset, as in the evening you often wait a quarter of an hour downstairs before being able to go up.
