The Ritz-Carlton Rabat review: our verdict
The most impressive thing about The Ritz-Carlton Rabat is not the décor but the way the team takes charge of an event: a supervisor who handles every detail, a pastry chef who signs off on celebration cakes worthy of a display case, and a kitchen that still serves guests arriving well after the restaurant closes. Around it, an elegant, tranquil pool and a Moroccan touch that is present without being overbearing. For dinner, Rihla, the signature table, tells the story of Ibn Battuta's journey from Morocco to Persia and all the way to Asia.
This is the address for a birthday, a family celebration, or a stay where you want everything to go smoothly, including for the children: the service anticipates without imposing itself. It is not a base for exploring Rabat on foot, since the hotel is at kilometer 9 of Avenue Mohammed VI, on the Dar Es Salam side. Nor is it the place for an improvised coffee: depending on the space, you may be asked to opt for a package rather than just a drink, and an available table may turn out to be reserved.
The good tip: entrust the celebration to the team, cake included, that is where the house gives its best. The pitfall: the tea time, at 700 DH, whose pastries do not always match the standard of the setting.
