The Source Marrakech review: our verdict
There is a professional recording studio at the back of the gardens, and it is not the only surprise at The Source. Spread over two hectares of dense greenery, on the side of the Ourika road, lodges, cabins, themed rooms, suites, and villas are scattered, some with a private garden or pool. A well-soundproofed club space hosts concerts and festivals; the rest of the time, birds and cicadas provide the soundtrack alone.
You come here for a couple's two-day getaway, a quiet retreat, or a pool day with friends, thanks to the daily pass. Spa with sauna and hammam, yoga, meditation, then dinner on the Berber-inspired rooftop terrace, facing the Atlas, as the light fades over the large pool. The staff are attentive and each accommodation category holds its own. However, it is a poor base for going out every evening in the medina: you park the car upon arrival and forget it until departure.
The trap: hoping for an Uber to get down to the city, they are rare in that direction; having your own car simplifies everything. The good tip: check the concert schedule before booking, to know if the evening will be festive or silent. On the budget side, count 130 to 150 DH per dish and 35 to 125 DH per drink, with or without alcohol (recorded in July 2026).
