Lili & Oli review: our verdict
Smoked salmon, poached eggs under a well-maintained hollandaise sauce, whole wheat bread, freshly pressed orange juice, fresh fruits, and yogurt with granola: Lili & Oli's Norwegian breakfast alone justifies the trip to the Targa road. Housed in the Kickoff Academy complex, the café also serves well-laminated croissants and brunch platters that fill the plate, available until 4 p.m.
The room is bright, the terrace basks in the sun, and you order from your table, making it a good spot for a quiet coffee or a few hours of computer work during the week. On weekends, groups of friends and families take over, and you can stay until evening, with poke bowls and à la carte pizzas. Don't count on it for an express brunch: when the room fills up, service slows down, and the wait can approach three-quarters of an hour.
The dish to order: the Norwegian breakfast, with a croissant on the side. The trap: the terrace in full summer, where the fruits attract a few bees, even though the misters help. The best time slot: early morning, the house opens at 7:30 a.m.
