Maroc Montgolfière review: our verdict
Michel Ries has piloted hot air balloons for over thirty years before passing the torch to his daughter Charlotte, who now commands the skies alongside her husband. The Maroc Montgolfière experience remains unchanged: takeoff at dawn, approximately an hour in the air, reaching up to 1,000 meters with the peaks of the Atlas, palm trees, and villages visible below.
There is no need to visit an office near the Jardin Majorelle; a shuttle will pick you up from your accommodation on schedule, followed by breakfast after landing. The briefing puts novices at ease, while Charlotte provides commentary on the landscape from the air. It is ideal for a birthday, a couple's outing, or a family with older children; the largest basket is compartmentalized so everyone can enjoy their own view. It is not suitable for late risers or those seeking the cheapest flight, as the establishment clearly caters to the high-end market.
The best deal: the private package, which includes breakfast served on board and the option of a drone-filmed video during the ascent. The catch: depart in summer attire, as it is chilly up there at dawn.
