MySky review: our verdict
Three hundred and sixty degrees with no blind spots: from the seventh floor of the Hivernage Hotel & Spa, MySky captures in a single glance the minaret of the Koutoubia, the ochre line of the ramparts, the olive grove in the distance, and, when the air is clear, the ridges of the Atlas. The show peaks at sunset, when Marrakech turns copper and lights prick up. At the bar, cocktails that hold their own; at the table, tapas to share, grills and Mediterranean plates, more accomplished than one would expect from a hotel terrace.
The service loves to tell stories: the menu, the dishes, sometimes a bit of Moroccan history with the glass. A DJ sets up a lounge atmosphere that builds throughout the evening, chicha is offered, and heaters and blankets take over when the evening cools. For a romantic evening or an aperitif with friends, the address hits the mark. No lunch option, however: the terrace opens at 6 p.m., every day, and closes at 2 a.m.
The best slot: the hour before sunset, to watch the city shift from golden to lights. The glass to order: a cocktail, to enjoy facing the Koutoubia while the DJ warms up.
