Zest Rooftop Bar review: our verdict
From the roof of the Four Seasons, the view takes in a full 360°: the resort's gardens, the city, and then the Atlas Mountains. Zest has bet on this panorama and on a Japanese ILOLI residence, whose bites are cut for the aperitif: champagne jelly oysters, caviar gunkan, sea bream carpaccio, and truffle-tataki beef on donburi.
The decor plays with yellow and green, modern zellige tiles and a central bar, and the service remains professional without being stiff. You climb up for a tête-à-tête aperitif, a light Asian dinner at sunset, or to impress passing friends; no need to sleep at the hotel, the roof is open to all. What comes from the kitchen holds up, and you nibble more than you dine. A large hungry table or a connoisseur of sharp mixology will leave less convinced: here, the view does most of the work.
The trap: betting on signature cocktails, less memorable than the panorama; a well-made classic fulfills its role better. The right time: arrive by 5 p.m. and take a seat before the sun descends on Marrakech.
