Nixx review: our verdict
On Thursdays, Nixx returns to its original purpose: karaoke transforms this bar on Boulevard Mohamed Abdou into an improvised concert hall, and the atmosphere suddenly lifts. The rest of the week, the house plays a more subdued tune, with a tapas menu, a few rather successful pizzas, and cocktails.
Those who knew it in its prime miss the more inventive cocktails, the 90s hits at a reasonable volume, and the convivial spirit that brought people back. Today, the music is often too loud, the tapas more mediocre, and the service can be curt, even with regulars. Worth trying for a group looking to sing on a Thursday evening; not for a quiet drink, nor for a first date you want to succeed.
The good slot: Thursday evening for the karaoke. The trap: coming for the homemade cocktails of old, the menu has lost its originality. The good tip: the house opens every day from 4 p.m. and closes at 1 a.m., leaving time for a first drink before the evening crowd.
