Villa Des Orangers review: our verdict
Nothing from the alley hints at the orange trees. Once you cross the threshold, a 1930s residence, a hotel since 1998 and a Relais & Châteaux member since 2001, unfolds around planted courtyards with a dozen rooms and suites. A 60 m² hammam, three heated pools, the longest measuring 16 meters, the Gemology spa, and on the roof, the Koutoubia and the Atlas Mountains united in the same view.
You come here to celebrate an anniversary for two or to treat yourselves to a romantic weekend, supported by a team that gladly organizes tours and taxis and by a à la carte, generous breakfast included in the stay. At the table, for lunch and dinner, the cuisine blends Moroccan and international flavors and maintains its level from one decade to the next. Light sleepers and those who need to work will not enjoy it much: you can hear footsteps and neighbors waking up, and the Wi-Fi drops in the rooms.
The trap: plan a late dinner, as the kitchen stops taking orders around 8:45 pm and the dining room empties early. The best slot: go up to the roof before dinner, when the Koutoubia takes on the evening light. On the car side, the nearest parking is paid.
