Our review
The rising specialty coffee shop in Marrakech
Palmetto Coffee, on Rue Yougoslavie in Marrakech, is a specialty coffee shop that takes as much care with its extractions as its setting. In a city where traditional cafés still largely dominate, Palmetto offers a welcome alternative for those who appreciate well-roasted, well-prepared coffee. The light wood counter, green plants and natural light create a calm oasis in the heart of the city.
Coffee and beverages
Coffee is the core of the offering. Espressos are extracted with precision, the flat white is smooth, the matcha latte well-balanced. Beans are sourced from quality roasters, and each preparation is executed with the seriousness of a true barista. Cold beverages — iced latte, cold brew, seasonal juices — are also well-conceived. It’s the kind of place you return to for the consistency of the coffee.
Pastries and setting
The food menu is intentionally focused: homemade pastries — cookies, banana bread, carrot cake — and a few light savory options. The setting is cozy and luminous, with comfortable furniture and an atmosphere that invites you to linger. Regulars come to work on their laptops or take a break between two city visits. Service is attentive without being intrusive — exactly what you expect from a good café.
Our verdict
Rated 4.8/5 on Google, Palmetto Coffee is one of Marrakech’s best coffee addresses. The extraction quality is consistent, the setting is soothing, and the homemade pastries are a nice complement. If you’re a coffee lover visiting Marrakech — or a local in search of great coffee — this is a mandatory stop. Rue Yougoslavie, Marrakech. Wifi and air conditioning available.
