Pickalbatros Hôtel du Golf review: our verdict
In the Pickalbatros family, Hôtel du Golf is the one that primarily targets adults, and the entire program reflects this. Its Mauresque-style buildings frame a golf course and several pools scattered across the gardens of the Palmeraie, plus an indoor heated pool with a jacuzzi for winter evenings.
At the buffet, tajines and grilled dishes take center stage, and the formula covers meals and drinks. Between aquagym, archery, the spa, the gym, and a Moroccan cooking class, days fill up quickly for anyone who secures a sunbed. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping is meticulous. For a couple or a group of friends wanting sun without organizing anything, it's the right choice. For relaxation, much less so: music plays loudly in the afternoon and late at night, and the large dining hall has the feel of a cafeteria during meal times.
The good deal: free shuttles, several times a day, that drop you off at Jemaa el-Fna in a quarter of an hour. The trap: going down to the pool after 8 p.m., when towels laid out earlier have already taken all the sunbeds. The dish to order: the grilled items, the only part of the buffet that changes from day to day.
