Les Palmiers review: our verdict
Two pools, and the whole question is figuring out which one you're entitled to. At Les Palmiers, a boutique hotel in the Palmeraie set along the road to Fès, the day revolves around water: aligned sun loungers, a cocktail bar within reach, and a DJ on certain days. The decor blends Moroccan craftsmanship with 1970s bohemian style, and the rooms range from 25 to 125 m², up to a Royal Suite with its own private pool.
The staff knows their regulars by their first names, and the waterfront welcome is enough to bring them back. At table, head chef Meryam Cherkaoui works with fresh local produce, and the spa completes the programme for a weekend getaway. A day pass allows you to enjoy the facilities without staying overnight, practical when you're staying in the medina and want a proper day of swimming with friends. Not for those who want to choose their sun lounger: spots are assigned by staff, and on busy days, flexibility is lacking.
The trap: believing that the day pass opens up the entire domain, when one of the two pools remains reserved for hotel guests.
