Tigmiza review: our verdict
Only twenty-eight accommodations, yet three restaurants, three bars, a spa, a private cinema and a gym: Tigmiza packs a lot into a small estate in the Palmeraie. Suites, pavilions and villas, the latter with their own heated pool, each have their own decor. At the back of the greenery, a wooden Yoga Shala, open to the trees, is the feature you wouldn't expect in a hotel of this size.
Couples come here for quiet nights, bedding that lives up to its promises and a varied, generous breakfast; some are already on their third stay. The hotel also opens its doors to visitors: a guided yoga session, a pool day pass, lunch at the Pool Bar, a treatment at the Timijja spa. In the evening, you dine on Moroccan food at Lallati or international cuisine at Libiti, then finish at the English-style pub or on the panoramic terrace. Jemaa el-Fna is 11 km away: you don't stay here to wander the medina from morning till night.
The best deal: the free shuttle to the medina and the airport, which partly erases the distance; parking is free too. The best time slot: a morning at the Yoga Shala, then an afternoon in a deckchair with a day pass.
